Shimano Steps E8000 drive system, made for mountain biking
The Shimano Steps E8000 system is designed specifically for mountain bikes. The E8000 drive unit is lightweight and very compact compared to other drive units, which enables a shorter chainstay for better handling and more clearance. With a maximum output of 70Nm (250W) it provides plenty of power and is a heap of fun to ride. Shimano has a new e-MTB LCD display and control switch with an ergonomic switch position especially developed for MTB. There are four modes of power – eco, tour, sport and turbo – and a Power Walk mode to provide motor assist if required while pushing the bike. The amazing Focus designed integrated tube battery provides up to 100km range and, conveniently, there is an option to carry an extra battery for a combined 21Ah power thanks to the Focus Tailored Energy Concept (TEC). Fantastic for long rides and offroad touring.
