In Focus' award-winning Jam Squared (Jam2) electric mountain bike range the Focus Jam2 Plus bikes have 27.5" wheel plus-tyres and dual suspension of 140mm or 150mm. The Jam2 range targets riders who prefer all-mountain riding and 27.5 Plus tyres are favoured by those who love the extra traction those tyres provide. Great for climbing and fast cornering. The Shimano E8000 drive system will help keep your legs working for longer when your rides have heaps of gnarly climbs and with the Jam2 design you (uniquely) have the option of mounting a second battery in the frame for double the distance.
ExDemo model is lime/black and medium frame.
Focus won a Design and Innovation Award when Jam2 bikes were first introduced in 2017. In the jury's words...
"The FOCUS JAM² is blurring the boundaries between conventional mountain bikes and E-MTBs by nailing a direct, defined, and playful handling package that translates into a fun and flowing ride, whatever the gradient. There’s a powerful Shimano STEPS M8000 MTB motor, which is fed by FOCUS’s own modular power concept: the T.E.C, or TAILORED ENERGY CONCEPT, which—as the name suggests—allows you to tailor the energy you’re carrying on the bike.
With the addition of dual-purpose rails on the downtube, you can choose to carry a second sleek battery to boost the total capacity to 756 Wh for super-long adventures if you forego a bottle cage. With its reliance on FOCUS’s impressive F.O.L.D (Focus Optimized Linkage Design) rear end design, the JAM² is a fierce contender on the trails once you’ve pressed the impeccably integrated yet distinguished-looking power button on the top tube. Its capable, performance-focused geometry and well thought-out spec are destined to plaster a grin on your face.”
Your are spoiled for choice with the Focus Jam2 Plus range with four versions, on offer depending on what suspension system and componentry you prefer.
The base model is the Focus Jam2 6.7 Plus. It offers a very handy 140mm travel with the Rockshox Recon suspension system, a range of 10 gears with Shimano Deore gearing and Magura MT5 hydraulic disc brakes for anchors. The very capable Race Face AR40 wheels with Maxxis Rekon tyres keep you rolling and a dropper seatpost helps keeps you flowing.
You can then step up to 150mm travel with the rest of the Jam2 Plus models with the choice of Fox 34 / Fox Float or Rockshox Revelation / Rockshox Deluxe suspension. The top of the range model, the Jam2 9.7 Plus offers full Shimano Deore XT gearing and braking and the heavier duty Race Face Aeffect wheelset.
See the Focus website here for further information on each of the models.
