Top Value Enduro eMTB with Fox 38 Rhythm.  The Focus Sam2 6.8 eMTB is the mid range model in the new Sam2 enduro / downhill eMTB range and it is fantastic value. For this new model Focus has moved the game on using the Bosch Smart System drive system and 750Wh battery.

"Designed for Down", it also has a completely new frame and suspension setup with fully active 4-bar linkage while retaining the same downhill DNA of the previous model (burley frame, slack head angle, 180/170mm). The Sam2 6.8 runs with Fox Rhythm 180mm travel, Rock Shox Super Deluxe Coil shock 170mm, Shimano Deore XT 12-speed gears, Magura MT5 brakes and DT Swiss wheelset.  

Slack or slacker? For more aggressive trails you can slacken the head angle from 64.5 to 63.5 using the rotatable headset cups. This makes the Sam2 one of the most raked out eMTB options for 2023.

Bosch Smart System. You get the Bosch 750Wh powertube battery as standard, which means more laps, more downs, bigger grin. Download the Bosch eBike flow app to unlock customisable rider modes, fitness and performance data, as well as security features. Add the Bosch eBike Alarm and Connect Module to add a integrated 100dB alarm and GPS tracking to your pride and joy.

Ground Up Frame Re-design. To accomodate the new 750Wh Bosch Smart System power tube battery Focus rotated the Bosch CX motor to allow the battery to sit low in the down tube and help keep the weight low down in the bike.

The battery is still removable, however to increase frame stiffness and reduce weight, the opening for battery removal is at the bottom of the downtube, protected by a sturdy skid plate. This means the frame wall thickness can be reduced to deliver the same stiffness at a lower weight than the previous larger cut out dual wall frame design.
