Congratulations to Riese & Muller for winning a 2019 Design and Innovation Award for both the Multicharger and the Nevo GT. With innovation in ebikes at its peak what is incredible about this achievement is that Riese & Muller have won two awards, and this is the third year in a row that they have won two.
The Riese & Muller Multicharger ebike is a crossover cargo bike and the Nevo GT is a stunning stepthrough urban ebike. Both bikes have been awarded in the 'Urban' category.

Riese & Muller Multicharger ebike
The judging panel awarded the Riese & Muller Multicharger for its innovative design as a crossover between a cargo and an ebike.
The Multicharger is a compact midtail bike with an extended wheelbase that offers a much larger rear rack than normal bikes, without making it unwieldy like many cargo bikes. It offers the option for dual battery capacity for the crossbar version however also is available in mixte version for those who want more room in the cockpit

The judging panel commented "The rack will carry a high payload of up to 60 kg and offers space for a children’s seats, a beer crate or two high volume panniers – the Multicharger is the pickup truck among ebikes. It rides almost like a normal ebike, while the long wheelbase ensures a lot of composure and stability. The mountain bike handlebar invites you to make off-road detours, and with the optional DualBattery, you’ll no longer have to worry about the battery capacity."

Riese & Muller Nevo GT ebike
The judging panel awarded the Riese & Muller Nevo GT for its athleticism and clean and neat lines, which is not usually a feature in stepthrough ebike.
The Nevo GT is an evolution of one of Riese & Muller's most popular models, the Nevo. The Nevo GT features a frame with clean lines that fully integrates its battery, as well as offering the option to mount a second battery for dual battery capability.
The judging panel comments: "Suitable for everyday use, very comfortable, easy to get on and off: there are many pros to a step-through frame, aesthetics is usually not one of them. The Riese & Müller Nevo GT is different, its sporty step-through frame impressing with a clean and neat design. The Bosch PowerTube battery is fully integrated, the raised chainstays not only creating a continues line, but also allow the use of a low-maintenance and quiet belt drive."
"The Nevo GT is perfectly equipped for everyday use, and with the optional dual battery setup, it doesn’t shy away from long rides either."
