Here is the wrap of the Electric Bikes Brisbane Open Day 2023 held in March. For this, our fourth annual Open Day, we focus on Adventure and Touring with ebikes.
This is an increasingly popular activity in Australia thanks to the expanding network of rail trails and cycle trails, our gorgeous landscape and the advances in ebike technology and design over the years which make it so enjoyable and achievable with ebikes.
On show for the day are some of our best adventure and touring bikes. However this day is mainly about helping you to get started and/or evolve so we also covered the key practical aspects of touring with ebikes. For example,
- we have customers' bikes on display to show how they set their bikes up to tour and what equipment they use;
- we have Milly the Van onsite to show how you can travel with and transport ebikes;
- we talk about the resources available to help you plan routes and navigate.
With the help of our special guests Linda Cash (@agirlandherebike) and our very own Andrew Hopper (@ebike_andy) we also answer some of the most frequently asked questions about touring with electric bikes.

The EBikes on Display Today
On show for the day are some of our best adventure and touring bikes. These ebikes fall into the following categories:
- The classic adventure ebike - long distance, all terrain-capable and comfortable. Depending on the riding you plan to do and your preferences for ride feel and maintenance, you have the options of dual suspension or hardtail; belt drive or chain; internal gearing or derailleur; single battery or dual battery or dualbatt-capable (range extenders available).
- Gravel ebikes - lightweight and fast-paced and we have kitted out our display model with bikepacking gear to show how you can carry your gear.
- E-Mountain bikes - built for mountain biking however they can make great occasional tourers. We have kitted out a hardtail and a dual suspension eMTB with the some of the latest bikepacking equipment to show how you can carry gear on both types.
- Folding ebikes - compact and easily stored in a vehicle and provide a handy option for exploring the local area you arrive at.
