At Electric Bikes Brisbane, we stock beginner-suitable models from Kalkhoff, Riese & Müller, Tern, ADO, Norco, Focus and more — all brands with genuine Australian distribution, local parts availability, and warranty support, which matters more for a first e-bike than for an experienced rider who can self-diagnose issues.

- Bike fitting and setup
- Supported test rides to try before you buy
- Fully assembled and workshop-checked bikes
- Ongoing servicing and technical support

Beginner eBike Buying FAQs
How much does a good beginner electric bike cost in Brisbane?
Our beginner-friendly range starts under $3,000 for models like the ADO Air 20 Pro and extends to $10,000–$11,000 for fully-equipped Bosch-powered step-throughs from Kalkhoff and Riese & Müller with features such as ABS brakes, belt drive and internal gears. As a general rule, spending more at the entry point buys you a smoother torque-sensing motor, better frame stability, and stronger local warranty support — all of which matter more for a first e-bike than for an upgrade. Check our current specials for the best available pricing across this range.
Should a beginner choose a step-through or a traditional frame?
Most first-time riders find a step-through (wave) or trapeze frame easier to mount, dismount, and stop confidently, especially at traffic lights or on uneven ground. A traditional frame with a top tube isn't wrong for a beginner, but it demands more confidence and flexibility. Several models in this collection, including the Kalkhoff Entice and Norco Scene VLT ranges, are available in both frame styles — our team can help you choose based on your height, flexibility, and where you'll be riding.
Can I test ride a beginner eBike before buying?
Yes. Every bike in this collection is available for a supported test ride at our Milton store. We recommend booking ahead so a team member can set the correct saddle height, explain the power modes, and answer questions specific to the model you're considering. Book a test ride here.
Do beginner eBikes from Electric Bikes Brisbane come with a warranty and local servicing?
Yes. Every bike in this collection is backed by manufacturer warranty and can be serviced at our Milton workshop, where we are a Bosch-accredited service centre. Because we stock Kalkhoff, Riese & Müller, Tern, ADO, Norco and Focus — all brands with genuine Australian distribution — parts, firmware updates, and warranty claims are handled locally rather than through an overseas seller.
What's the difference between the Norco and Focus beginner models and the European brands in this range?
Norco (Canadian-designed) and Focus (German-engineered) both offer strong beginner-suitable options with Shimano and Bosch motor systems respectively, generally at a lower price point than Riese & Müller. Norco's Scene VLT range suits city and commuter riders wanting a lightweight step-through, while Focus's Thron2 and Jam2 models are built for riders wanting to try light trail or eMTB riding from day one. Our team can talk you through which fits your riding goals and budget.
Can I get a beginner eBike delivered, or do I need to buy in-store?
You can buy online with delivery via our Store to Door service, over the phone, or in person at our Milton store. We recommend an in-store visit or test ride where possible for a first e-bike, since fit and confidence matter more than for a repeat purchase — but delivery is available if that's not practical for you.
