Queensland EBike Rebate

Fantastic news for anyone considering an e-bike purchase. The Queensland Government has announced a $500 rebate on approved e-bikes, purchased from 23 September 2024.

The Queensland Government has updated their Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy, introducing a rebate for e-mobility devices. The rebate is $500 for e-bikes and $200 for e-scooters.

Just $1 million is presently allocated to the scheme so if you have been thinking about getting an ebike and want to get the $500 rebate we suggest you be quick to apply.

Who Can Apply for the Qld EBike Rebate?

Any Queenslander over 18 years of age buying a new approved ebike can apply for the $500 rebate.

You must have a receipt to submit with your application showing you have paid for your ebike in full, including through buy now pay later services, on or after 23 September 2024.

What is an Approved EBike?

In short, if the ebike complies with Australian Standards and is purchased from a retailer instore or online, then it is eligible.

As Queensland’s leading e-bike specialists, we are proud to offer 100's of e-bikes that fully comply with the rebate program. All of our ebikes are EN15104-compliant with quality electric drive systems.

Whether you're commuting, cruising, or adventuring, we have a wide selection of e-bikes to suit your needs from trusted brands like Focus, Kalkhoff, Riese & Muller, Orbea, Husqvarna and more – and now you can save an additional $500!

How Do You Apply for the EBike Rebate?

Individual rebate applications must be submitted to QRIDA for each device being claimed. See the link to their website below.

Information you will need to provide includes:

  • Evidence of completed purchase ie. the receipt / invoice
  • Information supporting its eligibility as an approved ebike including "evidence of a regulatory compliance mark and evidence of a battery management system". Different brands present their information differently so suggestions include:
    • Excerpts from your ebike's manual;
    • Product specifications on our website or the brand's website outlining the 'ebike technology' of that product.
    • Manufacturers' brochures. This could be the ebike brand eg "Focus", or the drive system manufacturer eg. "Bosch", or both. For example, Bosch provides further information and data on their website such as this brochure explaining the additional battery certifications Bosch has undertaken...

"Peace of mind with UL 2849 battery and battery management system certification..." See full brochure

    • Photographs of the EN15194 compliance mark (and others if relevant) on the frame of your new ebike;
    • Photographs of any compliance stickers on your ebike's battery or charger
