Electric Bikes Brisbane is proud to be Riese & Muller’s appointed representative in Queensland. We have been associated with Riese & Muller since we first started Electric Bikes Brisbane five years ago and their ebikes are nothing short of sensational. Apart from their incredible beauty and ingenuity – always a pleasure on the eye and to ride – our experience through our workshop is that they are genuinely built to last a lifetime.
There are some incredible new models in the 2018 range, as well as upgrades to some old favourites. And this year Electric Bikes Brisbane can offer every model with a full made-to-order service.
What’s new for 2018 - Riese & Muller electric bicycles
The focus of the 2018 model range is on integration, range and riding enjoyment. And there is also a special model to celebrate their 25-year milestone.
Delite 25 – signature 25-year anniversary model
To mark the 25th anniversary of the company, founders Markus Riese & Heiko Müller have come up with their ‘dream’ E-Bike: the Delite 25. Based on the high-end Delite model with Control Technology, the Delite 25 is essentially the electric bike that they would have designed for themselves. Control and DualBattery Technology combined with Syntace and Fox Factory components with a Kashima coating, Shimano XTR Di2 gears and high-grade disc brakes make the Delite 25 a real highlight. Every Delite 25 is numbered and comes with a certificate hand-signed by Markus Riese and Heiko Müller. These will be collector's items, for sure.

Packster 40 – the compact cargo, a new generation
The Packster 40 won the 2017 Eurobike Award and, just announced, the 2018 Design and Innovation Award. It is especially designed to be a compact E-Cargo-Bike which crosses over to the more tradition style bicycle (vs cargo). This is a first in the industry. With a loading length of 40 cm and a weight of less than 30kg, it is more manageable and agile than the larger traditional cargo bikes and is more practical and balanced for load carrying than the traditional bicycle style. It also has a number of clever set-up options - from Box to Carry System to Child seat – which make it a very versatile choice. A unique and thoughtful feature is the look-through window on the front of the load that makes visibility and steering easier. The Packster 40 can also be configured with dual batteries and the NuVinci gearing / belt drive combination.

The New Charger – a favourite gets an integrated makeover
For 2018 the very popular and sporty Charger model gets relaunched with an integrated Bosch PowerTube battery, hence called the 'New' Charger. The standard New Charger model comes with the 500Wh Bosch PowerTube battery however there is also the option for DualBattery Technology (so 1,000Wh), with the second battery partially integrated into the frame. This is a fantastic E-Bike for everyday use – sporty, a comfortable seat position, beautifully balanced and equipped with thoughtful above-and-beyond extras such as Thudbuster suspension seatpost and Abus Bordo lock.
The New Charger series is also available in a Mixte version, with lower sloping downtube, which proved very popular last year.
There are five configurations for the New Charger this year from the standard Touring model to NuVinci / carbon belt drive to heavy duty GH model. There is also a choice of three frame colours (black matt; electric red metallic; pearl white) and three frame sizes for the Gents (46cm, 49cm and 53cm) and two frame sizes for the Mixte (46cm and 49cm).

Supercharger – a new e-bike concept, for the long-distance rider
This is a brand new model for Riese & Muller and it embodies a totally new E-Bike concept, really packing a punch in terms of design, range and integration. The SuperCharger is a long-range touring ebike, with much the same intent as the Delite but in a hardtail version, using the new Bosch PowerTube batteries.
Riese & Müller was one of the first ebike manufacturers to use Bosch DualBattery Technology and this was extremely successful in models such as the Riese & Muller Delite and Riese & Muller Load. Riese & Muller once again lead the market by developing dual battery options for the new Bosch Powertube 500Wh batteries.
The beautiful thing about the SuperCharger design is that it fully integrates two Bosch PowerTube batteries into its frame. It has an ultra-sporty two-coloured frame that looks fantastic and you are hard pressed to tell it is an electric bike. This beautiful design was recently awarded a 2018 Design and Innovation Award. Available in three touring configurations - the standard touring model, heavy duty GH model with nuvinci and belt drive, and Rohloff version with fat tires; two frame colour choices (electric blue metallic and urban silver metallic); and three frame sizes (46cm, 49cm and 53cm). Plus there is also a hardtail mountain bike version.

Nevo – introducing a heavy duty ‘GH’ model for 160kg capacity
One of Riese & Muller's most popular models, the Nevo is one of the only stepthrough electric bicycle models available that is powered by the Bosch Performance CX drive system. (One of the other ones is the Riese & Muller Swing, if you are more interested in a retro, Dutch style riding position vs a sporty stepthrough position).
It is a beautifully balanced, sporty ebike that accommodates riders who prefer the lower entry frame and was designed to be an urban crossover into touring. Its popularity as a touring bike and urban car substitute (carrying children etc) encouraged the development of a heavier duty model that can carry a higher 160kg weight capacity and this is the new ‘GH’ model. The GH model is the ‘top-of-the-range’ option in the Nevo model and come with nuvinci gearing, carbon belt drive and fat tyres for even more comfort. Riese & Muller have also modified the frame sizes available and have introduced an extra small 43cm frame to accommodate smaller riders (with 26” wheels).
