Endeavour — Trekking and Commuter

The Endeavour is Kalkhoff's trekking and commuter platform. It sits in the middle ground between a purely urban bike and a dedicated rail trail bike. Smoother road-oriented tyres, an upright but slightly sportier geometry than the Image, and a focus on covering distance comfortably. If you are commuting daily, exploring bikeway networks, or want a dependable touring companion for longer rides, the Endeavour is the natural starting point.

Entice — All-Terrain All-Rounder

The Entice is Kalkhoff's most versatile family and our most popular Kalkhoff style at EBB. It is built for riders who want one bike that does everything: daily commuting, weekend rail trail runs, gravel paths, creek crossings and longer adventures. The Entice has a more off-road-oriented tyre tread and a sportier geometry than the Endeavour — still upright and comfortable, but more planted and stable when conditions get rougher. When a Brisbane City Council team needed a fleet eBike capable of thousands of kilometres monitoring bikeways and footpaths across the city, they chose the Kalkhoff Entice. The step-through frame, front rack compatibility and all-terrain capability made it the right tool for the job.

Image — Urban Comfort

The Image is Kalkhoff's purely urban model. Think Dutch-style upright riding position, suspension seatpost for smoothing out Brisbane's rougher roads, internal gearing for low-maintenance city riding, and a clean integrated look. If you are mostly riding around town, commuting on bikeways, or want a comfortable everyday glider that looks sharp, the Image range is where to start.

Understanding the Kalkhoff Model Numbers

Within each family, the number in the model name tells you the specification level. Here is what each level means in practice:

• Level 1 — Entry level. German engineering and Bosch motors at an accessible price point.
• Level 3 — Mid-range. Fully integrated battery and a clean, modern look. The most popular level for everyday Brisbane riders.
• Level 5 and 5+ — Premium. Something genuinely special in the build: belt drive, heavy-duty 170kg+ rating, or both.
• Level 7 and 7+ — Top of range. The best Bosch motor system, the best components, top-tier equipment. Includes dual suspension models and ABS braking on selected variants.
• Level L — Lightweight. Bosch SX-powered for riders who love the natural feel of cycling and want a nimble, lighter eBike.
• Level C — Compact. 20-inch wheels for urban riders with limited storage, apartment living, or a preference for a smaller, more manageable bike.

Every 2026 Kalkhoff model — unless it is specifically a lightweight model — carries a minimum 150kg total system weight rating. Many models in the 5+ and 7+ range are rated to 170kg or 180kg. To earn those ratings, Kalkhoff tests every frame and every in-house component to at least 30,000 kilometres of simulated real-world use before it goes into production.

Riding Kalkhoff in Brisbane — What to Expect

Brisbane is a genuine test for any eBike: steep streets, humid summers, wet-season grime, potholes, bikeways, rougher rail trail sections and everything in between. How far can I ride on a Kalkhoff eBike in Brisbane?

A practical guide for Brisbane's hilly conditions: expect approximately 80–100km from 600Wh or 625Wh batteries on mixed terrain with some hills, and roughly 20% more from an 800Wh setup. Flat bikeway riding will extend that further. Actual range depends on rider weight, assist mode, load, tyre pressure and conditions. Are Kalkhoff eBikes heavy?

Most fully-equipped Kalkhoff models (with rack, mudguards, lights and kickstand) weigh around 25–26kg. For context, that is similar to most other fully-equipped eBikes. The weight sits low on Kalkhoff bikes — their centre of gravity is deliberately kept low — which makes them feel more stable and confident to ride than the number might suggest. The battery is easily removable on every model, which helps if you need to lift the bike into a car or up stairs. Lightweight L-series models are also available if weight is a priority.
