Happy Birthday EBB: Celebrating our 5th year as Qld’s leading ebike specialist

Birthday Bonanza Sale

Time flies. Twelve months ago we moved our business from Enogerra to Milton and, when we started reflecting, we realised that Electric Bikes Brisbane is also celebrating its 5th year.

That’s something to celebrate! A huge thank you to our loyal customers and friends for your support, some who have been with us the whole way.

We wanted to mark the occasion so…

Birthday Bonanza Sale - $250 off every ebike

Take advantage of our Birthday Bonanza Sale and get riding in this awesome Spring! Until 31 October you can get at least $250 off any ebike on our website that is in stock. That’s right, buy in September or October and grab a deal. If you want an even bigger bargain see our Electric Bike Specials for extra special deals.

EBB Owners Club is expanding

We also wanted to offer more to our loyal customers, our EBB Owners, so are pleased to announce that we are expanding the EBB Owners Club activities to provide skills workshops.

Our skills workshops will run periodically throughout the year cover a range of topics from general interest to hands-on such as mechanical repairs for the unmechanically-minded and e-bike maintenance tips. Great for keeping your bike in good running order and for getting yourself out of trouble if you are out and about!

Our first skills workshop is ‘Flat out – Roadside Tyre Repairs’ and is scheduled for 14 October. This will give you some hands-on coaching on how to prevent flat tyres and, in the event you have one, how to do roadside repairs (mid-drive and hub drive ebikes).

If you have any suggestions for skills workshops that you would like us to run please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the EBB Owners Page.

Electric Bikes Brisbane - It’s been quite a journey

Time really does fly. After trying our hand at selling conversion kits online it doesn’t seem that long ago when we excitedly painted the walls and laid flooring in a small space that we shared with Automotion Prestige Auto Service in Pickering St, Enoggera. That little space had an awesome test ride track though and very quickly we were in business. A lot has changed in this time but there are also a lot of things that have stayed the same and it has been fun reflecting on our journey to now.

Big milestones for EBB – in addition to deciding to open an electric bike shop!

August 2013 Held our first public electric bike demo day. Had 4 brands. Some very sceptical and curious souls!

What’s changed for electric bicycles in the past 4-5 years?

Mountain bike design – used to just be a style of commuter, now they augment and challenge the performance of traditional mountain bikes.

Bosch mid-drive ebikes – used to just be the ‘Classic’ motor and 400Wh battery; now there are four motors, 400Wh and 500Wh batteries and some ebikes designed now for dual battery carriage. Stepthrough e-bikes can now feature very sporty motors vs for gentle cruising.

Battery technology and placement – they used to be mostly silver, placed on the rear rack and 11AH was considered large. Now they are mostly inframe placement, with some even fully integrated (and up to 17Ah).
