E-Bike Won't Turn On? Troubleshooting Tips to Get You Going
Have you ever been in the situation where you have gone to ride your e-bike and it won't turn on? It can be very inconvenient, particularly if you have travelled somewhere to ride!
In this video we run you through some of the steps you can take to troubleshoot what the issue might be. We also show you some techniques to get you back up and running.
Firstly, the basics (if your battery is removable):
- Have you taken your battery? (Yes, it does happen!)
- Have you taken your battery key? You will need this to put your battery back in and to check if it is in correctly.
Then check these potential situations:
- Has your battery been inserted correctly? We show the correct technique to put a Bosch Smart System Powertube battery into a Focus Aventura2 6.8 e-bike
- Are the cables to your control unit correctly connected? They are designed to be easily replaced so can be pulled out. We show you the correct way to reinsert them.
- Does the battery in your control unit have charge? If not, we show how you can turn your e-bike on using your battery instead.
- Is your display seated correctly? Check for dust on the contact points and give them a quick wipe.
Hopefully with these steps you can get your ebike going again and enjoy that ride you were planning to do. (If this doesn't help then we recommend booking your bike into our Service Centre for a more indepth diagnosis.
