For the 2025 season, and to coincide with the release of the Gen 5 Bosch CX motor, Orbea have released a fully redesigned Wild. Already considered the best eMTB available, Orbea claim this is their most capable enduro-ready eMTB ever.Â
Like its predecessor the 2025 Orbea Wild focuses uncompromisingly on trail performance. For the new Wild, Orbea’s development team worked in close collaboration with the Orbea FOX Enduro Team, which competes in the E-Enduro World Cup. Through the OOLab project – Orbea’s research and development division – they have created an even better Wild.Â
2025 Orbea Wild: Key ChangesÂ
At first glance, the new Orbea WILD looks almost identical to its predecessor. It's new frame though is built around the Gen 5 Bosch CX motor - an improvement on its own. Orbea’s development team focused on fine details prioritising uphill and downhill performance in the new design... adjusting kinematics, tweaking geometry, and ensuring it delivers a fabulous ride for any type of rider, regardless of level of experience.
Key changes include:Â
- Suspension travel is now 170mm front and rear (from 170/160mm) and you can now also set up your new Wild as a mullet (configured at factory or an after-market kit)
- The kinematics now provide for a more progressive leverage rate that offers a higher initial starting rate for improved small-bump compliance and grip.
- The new frame offers a lower centre of gravity and is more rigid in the right places to enable its incredible (fast!) handling. The insertion depth of the dropper seatpost is increased so you can get your saddle really low, and the bottom bracket is slightly higher to provide more clearance.Â
- Head angle is is half a degree slacker now at 63.5 for more stability (otherwise its the same reach measurements)
- New Uquo wheels designed to reduce the risk of pinch flats
Bosch Performance CX Gen 5
The new Orbea Wild features the latest, fifth-generation Bosch Performance CX motor. The Orbea engineers revised the motor mounts to integrate the drive more seamlessly into the frame and thus to achieve a sleeker overall design.
Like its predecessor, it delivers 85Nm of torque and 600 watts peak power however this motor is lighter, quieter and has some excellent new software functions.
Paired with the motor is the option of either the (new) 600Wh if you want a lighter option, or the 750Wh battery if you want maximum range. As before there is still the option to add a Bosch Powermore 250 range extender.Â
