Frequently Asked
Orbea makes the most awarded electric mountain bikes in the world. Not once, not in one category — across the board, year after year, on every trail type and at every price point. At Electric Bikes Brisbane, we are a Platinum Orbea dealer, and we’ve been riding Orbea eMTBs on Queensland’s trails since the brand entered the electric market. Our founder Nick rode the Orbea Rise before switching to the Orbea Wild M-Team when it launched in 2023 — and after three years of riding and testing nearly every premium eMTB on the market, he’s just put his name down on the new Wild LT M-LTD RS. That’s the kind of conviction that comes from first-hand experience.
The current Orbea electric mountain bike range spans three distinct platforms, each built around a different motor system and a different riding philosophy. Here’s how to choose yours.
Three Platforms, Three Motor Systems
Orbea Wild LT — Avinox M2S | The Pinnacle of Full-Power eMTB
The new Wild LT is the headline. It moves Orbea’s flagship eMTB from Bosch to the Avinox M2S motor — the most powerful production eMTB motor available, delivering 130Nm of continuous torque, up to 150Nm in Boost mode, and peak power of up to 1,500W. Frame DNA comes from the Orbea Rallon, Orbea’s World Cup enduro platform: 170mm of travel, a low and centred mass, and the “Steep ’n’ Deep” geometry that keeps the Wild composed when speed and consequences are highest.
Available in 7 models across full carbon (OMR) and hydro alloy frames, with a choice of full 29” or dedicated mullet (29”/27.5”) configuration. The flagship M-LTD RS and M-Team RS models add Orbea’s exclusive RS Tune firmware — a proprietary motor tune that makes the motor 5× more reactive on pedal rotation, 2× more sensitive to pedal force, and extends range by up to 25% compared to the standard Avinox tune. It’s a feature no other brand offers.
Australian pricing from $11,799 (alloy H20) to $20,999 (carbon M-LTD RS). Preorders are open now, with standard builds estimated to arrive from September 2026. The MyO custom configurator is also open for orders immediately.
The Wild LT is for: serious mountain bikers who want the fastest, most progressive eMTB technology available. Riders who live for the black diamonds — Gap Creek, Ironbark, Old Hidden Vale, Nerang, Tewantin — and who want a bike that can match their ambition on both the climbs and the descents.

Orbea Wild TR — Bosch Performance Line CX & CX-R | The Proven Full-Power Platform
The Orbea Wild TR is Orbea’s new name for their next-generation Bosch-powered full-power eMTB — a name chosen to distinguish it from the Wild LT and reflect its updated suspension kinematics. Where the Wild LT pushes into next-generation motor territory, the Wild TR builds on one of the most trusted and widely supported motor ecosystems in the eMTB world.
The Wild TR runs the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 and CX-R motor systems, delivering up to 100Nm of torque and 750W of peak power. The CX-R (Race) variant adds a titanium crankshaft, ceramic bearings, and Race mode — an immediately aggressive full-power delivery tuned for technical climbing and competition. The Bosch ecosystem brings the Kiox 400C top tube display, the Bosch Flow app for motor tuning, ABS braking options, and compatibility with the Shimano Di2 Free Shift function for gear changes without pedalling. Battery options are 600Wh or 750Wh Bosch PowerTube. Travel is 170mm front and rear across the carbon range.
The Wild TR is available in 5 models (releasing soon) and can be ordered through Electric Bikes Brisbane to your spec via the MyO configurator. Available in 29” and mullet configurations.
The Wild TR is for experienced recreational mountain bikers who want a full-power eMTB but prefer the natural feel, intuitive power delivery, and proven reliability of the Bosch ecosystem. Riders who know their trails and their riding style, and value a motor system they can trust on day one and service anywhere.
Orbea Rise LT — Shimano EP801 RS | The Lightweight Alternative
The Orbea Rise LT takes a fundamentally different approach. Where the Wild LT and Wild TR are built to maximise motor power and trail capability, the Rise LT is designed to minimise the motor’s presence — to create an eMTB that rides, handles, and feels as close to an analogue mountain bike as possible, while still providing meaningful assistance on the climbs that matter.
It runs the Shimano EP801 RS motor — 85Nm of torque, refined and natural power delivery, and a sensor system that analyses cadence and torque to give smooth, precise assistance without intrusion. Battery options are 420Wh or 630Wh (with a 210Wh extender via bottle cage mounts). Travel is 150mm (LT) and 140mm (SL), keeping the package light and nimble. The SL model adds a slightly sharper head angle and shorter fork for a more XC-oriented ride. Complete builds start well under 20kg.
The Rise LT is for experienced riders who want the quality of the pedalling platform as much as the descending capability. Riders who love mountain biking for what it demands — the feel, the challenge, the playfulness — and want just enough assist to take the sting out of the climbs. It’s also the right choice for riders who prioritise the ability to ride past the 25km/h assist cutoff without the motor holding them back, and for riders who want a bike light enough to feel lively on flow trails, responsive through corners, and genuinely fun at every speed.

The Most Awarded eMTB Range in the World
The Orbea Wild platform has accumulated a record that no other electric mountain bike comes close to. E-Mountainbike Magazine awarded it Best in Test two years running. Pinkbike, BikeRadar, and The Loam Wolf simultaneously named it eMTB of the Year. The Loam Wolf was awarded it E-Bike of the Year three consecutive times — 2023, 2024, and 2025 — a record never achieved by any other bike. It won the eMTB-News readers’ vote in both 2024 and 2026.
Orbea’s eMTB design is informed directly by their World Cup racing programs. The Wild LT’s suspension kinematics come from the Orbea Rallon enduro race platform. The geometry, the frame stiffness targets, and the component choices are validated at the highest level of the sport before they reach a production bike. When you ride an Orbea eMTB, you’re riding proven technology.

The SEQ Trails: These Bikes Were Built For
Nick rides the Wild on the technical black diamond trails of South East Queensland, and our team knows these networks well. Here’s how the Orbea eMTB range maps to the trails you’re most likely to ride:
- • Gap Creek Reserve (Mt Coot-tha, Brisbane) — Pipeline, Death Adder, Axe Breaker. All three bikes handle these trails; the Wild LT and Wild TR reward committed, fast riding. The Rise LT is lively and capable but rewards a more considered approach.
- • Ironbark / Samford Conservation Park (North Brisbane) — Kombi, Bandicoot, shuttle runs. All three bikes are at home here. The Wild LT’s RS Tune makes a real difference on steep fire road pinches between shuttle laps.
- • Old Hidden Vale (Grandchester, 1hr from Brisbane) — 100+ km of singletrack. Long gravity runs like 500 Above, and Skyfall are where the Wild LT truly earns its keep. The Wild TR is equally capable; the Rise LT is a great choice for Hidden Vale’s flowing blue trails.
- • Nerang (Gold Coast) — Commonwealth Games venue, 60+ km of technical trails. All three bikes are appropriate depending on rider experience and trail selection.
- • Tewantin & Parklands (Noosa Hinterland) — 51 trails at Tewantin, from flowing singletrack to difficult black diamonds. The Wild LT and Wild TR are the right tools for Snake and Turn 10; the Rise LT suits the flow trails and intermediate blue runs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Orbea electric mountain bike?
The Orbea Wild LT is the flagship — the most powerful, most technologically advanced, and most awarded eMTB in the Orbea range. For riders who want the very best, it’s the clear answer. For riders who prefer the proven reliability and widespread support of the Bosch ecosystem, the Orbea Wild TR is the right choice. For experienced riders who prioritise a natural, lightweight ride feel, the Orbea Rise LT is the standout option.
What is the difference between the Orbea Wild LT and the Orbea Wild TR?
The Wild LT runs the Avinox M2S motor (130Nm, up to 1,500W), delivering the most power of any production eMTB motor. The Wild TR runs the Bosch Performance Line CX or CX-R (100Nm, 750W) — a more familiar and widely supported system. The Wild LT also has updated suspension kinematics derived from the Orbea Rallon enduro race platform. The Wild TR suits riders who prefer the intuitive feel and proven reliability of Bosch; the Wild LT suits riders chasing the most progressive technology available. Both are available in 29” and mullet wheel configurations.
What is the Orbea Wild LT price in Australia?
The Orbea Wild LT range starts from $11,799 for the alloy H20 and runs to $20,999 for the flagship carbon M-LTD RS. Carbon builds with the full RS Tune and RS Ecosystem start from around $14,999. Contact Electric Bikes Brisbane for full pricing on all models, including MyO custom build pricing.
What is the difference between the Orbea Wild LT and the Orbea Rise LT?
These are fundamentally different bikes for different riders. The Wild LT is a full-power eMTB with 170mm of travel, Avinox M2S motor (130Nm), and is designed for serious trail and enduro riding. The Rise LT is a lightweight eMTB with 150mm of travel, Shimano EP801 RS motor (85Nm), and is designed for riders who want a natural, analogue-style ride feel with assist that complements rather than dominates the riding experience. Both are excellent Orbea bikes — the right choice depends entirely on your riding style and priorities.
Is the Orbea Wild LT available now in Brisbane?
Electric Bikes Brisbane is taking preorders on the Orbea Wild LT now. Standard-configuration builds are estimated to arrive in September 2026. The MyO custom configurator is open for orders immediately. Contact us to place a preorder or discuss build options.
Can I do a mullet setup on the Orbea Wild LT?
Yes. The Wild LT comes with a dedicated mullet linkage (separate to the standard 29” setup), maintaining correct geometry in a 29”/27.5” mixed-wheel configuration. This is a properly engineered solution, not a compromise flip-chip. Riders can purchase both linkages and switch between configurations. The Wild TR also offers mullet and 29” options.
What motor does the Orbea Rise LT use?
The Orbea Rise LT uses the Shimano EP801 RS motor, delivering 85Nm of torque with natural, refined power delivery. Battery options are 420Wh or 630Wh (plus a 210Wh range extender). The EP801 RS is tuned for a smooth, precise assist that complements rider input — making the Rise LT feel as close to an analogue mountain bike as any eMTB currently available.
How do Orbea eMTBs compare to other electric mountain bikes?
Orbea eMTBs consistently outperform competitors in independent tests and have accumulated more industry awards than any other eMTB brand — across design awards and performance awards. Their race-proven frame geometry, premium suspension partnerships (Fox Factory), and proprietary innovations like the RS Tune on the Wild LT set them apart. At Electric Bikes Brisbane, we stock multiple eMTB brands, and Nick has ridden most of them. The Orbea Wild is the one he’s chosen to ride personally for three consecutive years.
Where can I test ride an Orbea electric mountain bike in Brisbane?
At our Milton store — free parking right out front. We recommend calling or texting ahead to confirm that the model and size you want are assembled and ready. Contact us to book a test ride.
