Riese & Müller Multitinker2 — The Urban Family Utility Bike

The Multitinker2 is very urban: a utility bike for moving your family around the city. Its 20-inch wheels keep the load low and the bike compact, which makes it easier to manage for less confident riders. With the right kit it carries up to two children, one larger passenger or luggage, and its front carrier and side-loaders each take up to 20kg. The fixed-spec Multitinker2 Family is the most economical way into the range; the Silent and Vario models add a belt drive.

Riese & Müller Multicharger3 — The Family Bike That Rides Like a Full-Size Bike

The Multicharger3 is the more versatile of the two. On 26-inch wheels it handles like a full-size bike, so it suits families who want a child carrier that still feels like a normal bicycle. It carries up to two children or one larger passenger, and its long rear rack is rated to 65kg — which is why it is also popular for touring and camping. At 193–195cm long, it is still easy to park.

If you want one bike that carries the kids during the week and goes touring or camping on weekends — and handles like a full-size bike — choose the Multicharger3. Test ride both with the load you carry and the difference is obvious within minutes.

Can a Riese & Müller longtail carry an older child or an adult?

Yes. Both the Multitinker2 and Multicharger3 have optional kits for one larger passenger instead of two small children. Tell us who you plan to carry and we will set up the right seat, footrests and handholds. In Queensland, passengers must sit in a seat designed for them and wear an approved helmet.

Can I tour or camp on a Multicharger3?

Yes — it is one of the reasons people buy it. The long rear rack is rated to 65kg, enough for panniers and camping gear, and the 26-inch wheels handle rail trails and gravel roads comfortably. Ask us about racks and bags for touring when you test ride.
