+of real use. At Electric Bikes Brisbane we have sold, ridden and serviced Riese & Müller since 2014, and most of the new 2027 range is now in store or on order — over 25 models across cargo, touring, commuter and city bikes, with specials on select 2026 models while they last.

What’s New in the 2027 Riese & Müller Range

• Up to 120Nm from the Bosch CX: Riese & Müller now specifies the latest Bosch Performance Line CX across its range, and Bosch’s Performance Upgrade 2.0 lifts it to up to 120Nm — more help on steep climbs, with heavy loads and when starting off.
• More affordable entry points: fixed-spec models such as the Nevo5 Silent Core and the Multitinker2 Family bring Riese & Müller comfort and build quality to a lower price than a fully configured bike.
• Swing5 upgrades: the Swing5 Vario now has disc brakes, for stronger, more consistent braking in changing weather.
• Connected as standard: the Carrie2 and Multitinker2 now come with the RX Chip built in, part of Riese & Müller’s push to connect every e-bike.

Cargo and Family E-Bikes

The Load5 60 and Load5 75 are dual-suspension front-loaders, the Transporter2 65 is rated to 220kg for kids, dogs or business deliveries, and the Carrie2 is a compact front-loader for city streets. Built for Queensland Conditions

Queensland riding asks a lot of an e-bike. We see Riese & Müller bikes used in humid Far North Queensland, on Brisbane hills, around Boondall Wetlands, through state forest gravel, on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and on multi-day trips interstate. Nick and Sam have both owned Riese & Müller Load 60 cargo bikes. They were bought for the 1,000km Mawson Trail in South Australia, but when COVID interrupted the trip they became everyday car replacements around Samford Valley: shopping, the post office, groceries and the dogs. Sam has even taken a Load 60 into Ironbark with the barbecue gear on board, surprising the mountain bikers as she climbed. She also rode a Riese & Müller Homage on a 30km each-way commute into our Milton store, including Settlement Road and the steep climbs through Bardon.

We are an official Riese & Müller Experience Store — the dealer level Riese & Müller gives to stores that keep the latest models as test bikes and offer premium advice and servicing. Electric Bikes Brisbane was established in 2013, and we imported our first Riese & Müller bikes in 2014. Helen bought her first from us that November, and has now ridden three generations of the same model with us — from a Culture Rohloff with the original Bosch Classic motor, to one with the Performance Line CX, to the Homage Rohloff she is waiting on now. As a Bosch Accredited Service Centre, our workshop handles diagnostics, software updates, servicing, cargo and touring setups, and the long-term maintenance these bikes are built for. Frequently Asked Questions

Why are Riese & Müller electric bikes more expensive?

Because of the engineering, the comfort, the custom specification options and the long-term durability. Riese & Müller fits some of the best available technology and premium accessories as standard — lighting, racks, locks, suspension, brakes and drivetrains that would be upgrades on other bikes. If the budget is not there, we will not push you into one; our e-bikes from $5,000 to $7,000 are where most of our customers buy. If the budget is there and you are unsure, test ride one. The ride usually explains why people value the brand.

Should I buy a 2026 special or wait for a 2027 model?

If a 2026 special is the model, size and colour you want, it is excellent value — the frames, belt drives and Bosch Smart System are the same generation, and Bosch software updates keep coming. Choose a 2027 model if you want a new-season feature such as the Swing5’s disc brakes or the built-in RX Chip, or if you want to configure your own battery, gearing and colour. We will tell you honestly which is the better buy for you.

Are Riese & Müller bikes good for Brisbane hills?

Yes, when matched to the right motor and gearing. Sam’s 30km commute took in Settlement Road and the steep climbs through Bardon, and she has tested hers on a very steep hill near home — watch the climb. Which gearing should I choose — Rohloff, Enviolo or Nexus?

All three are enclosed hub gears, and most Riese & Müller models pair them with a low-maintenance carbon belt. Rohloff is the premium electronic choice, with the widest gear range — ideal for touring and long, steep climbs. Enviolo is stepless and smooth, and the automatic version shifts for you, which suits city riding and cargo bikes. Can I configure my own Riese & Müller?

Yes. Most models can be ordered through the Riese & Müller configurator with your choice of battery size, gearing, suspension, colour and accessories. We help you through the options, explain which ones matter for Brisbane riding and confirm the likely delivery time before you order, because configured bikes are built to order in Germany. If you would rather ride away sooner, the fixed-spec Core and Family models and our in-store bikes are the quicker route.
